The Industrial Revolution Meets the Design World.

Steampunk is a design style that is inspired by the integration of man and machine. It is a collaboration of steam power machinery and industrial elements with a whimsical flair.

Steampunk is a fun design style that was my inspiration for my client’s son’s room. I mixed grey, blue, and copper fabrics with bronze and brass metals. I designed and built this unique bed to be the strongest statement in the room. I wanted it to fill the entire wall so that I could bring the caged lights down to illuminate the bed at night.

The window treatments are made from grill panels I found at the auto store and put on top of custom cornice boards in a complementary fabric. I then added nuts and bolts to the bed and cornice to tie it all in together.

I love a style that inspires me to think out of the box, and Steampunk is one that does just that. It is also a style that is growing in popularity because of the spectrum of elements you can use.
